remote-enabled, Help Desk that includes multiple Forum messaging, Tech
Support logging/tracking, FAQ document viewing and uploading, company
press releases/announcements and more.
New for 2002 - Skinnable!

And what you can download now is just a
fraction of what the dbO Help Desk will become.

for more information.
dbO Help Desk is a good example of what remote connectivity is all
about. A Help Desk is one of the first products needed by a company using
remote technology. We are now using this application to handle all our
communications with customers and evaluators...
Intranets, Alliances
This is the perfect application for a
company intranet, or for any business or group wanting to host message
forums, enable
over-the-net tech support, push news messages and enable user access to
selected files or simply to maintain close contact with a
select group of associates or customers.
The Help Desk is easily customized to become an information source for any corporate intranet.
Forums can be of your own making. The News Center is customizable to suit
your needs.
The product is an excellent tool for strategic alliances as well. dbO Help Desk enables a type of
inter-corporate intranet. Various companies in an alliance group can maintain their own databases and all member companies can switch between databases at will with the one dbO Help Desk browser, thereby enabling browsing and updating into any alliance member's database. Forum identities are assigned by the middle layer on log in, and log in is controllable to specific, approved
people.
There are lots of possibilities.
Fully functional
dbO Help Desk has offline local storage,
selective record retrieval, remote file transfer, search wizards and more.
We wanted to demonstrate the versatility of
dbOvernet in a very practical way, and the dbO Help Desk does that, in
spades.
dbO Help Desk is a work in progress
demonstrating multi-tier technology and dbOvernet. We continue to improve it as we and
others use it.
We see dbO Help Desk as a valuable tool for
anyone needing to host message forums and maintain close contact with a
select group of associates or customers.

dbOvernet and dbBridge developers are discussed. Threads are
presented in the traditional tree view, and the message body can be
viewed as an extract list displayed parallel to each message, or as
a single document in a large pane adjacent to the tree view.
Messages are flagged according to status.
Status is visualized through icons attached to the message:
- New - a bright, sun
- Unread - a glowing light bulb
- Read - a dimmed light bulb
- Bookmarked - an open book
- Filtered - a pointing hand
The Message Center provides local

- New messages
- All messages
- Messages within a specified date
range
A handy set of filter/display
features are provided, and you can:
- Bookmark any message - the
bookmark is permanent until you choose to remove it.
- Expand all threads
- Filter and display messages:
- Unread messages
- Where a topic contains a
specified word
- Where a message body contains a
specified word
Of course, message center allows you
